First molecular insight about PFBS toxicology on thyroid
We found that parental exposure of marine medaka to PFBS caused potent disruption of thyroid endocrine system across three generations (F0, F1 and F2). Offspring suffered more severe impacts than parents albeit without direct exposure. Together with its bioaccumulation, biosafety of PFBS is still a concern, although PFBS is previously considered less bioaccumulative and less toxic than PFOS.
