Prof. Jianping Gan being interviewed on CCTV about how the rapid development of supercomputer in China accelerates scientific discovery

With the support from Tianhe-2, the supercomputer located in the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou, China, Prof. Jianping Gan and his research team successfully developed three-dimension, high-resolution, multiscale China Sea ocean modeling system, to monitor, diagnose and study the ocean circulation, biogeochemical processes, aquaculture and marine pollution in 2020. As one of the pioneers in Hong Kong that uses supercomputer to support scientific research, Prof. Gan was being interviewed on CCTV to talk about how the rapid development of supercomputing industry in China accelerates scientific discovery.
