2018 Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) piloting cruise

Field Survey

To obtain the spatiotemporal distribution of physical and biogeochemical parameters in Pearl River Estuary. Second piloting cruise of OCEAN_HK has been started in early July 2018. The cruise was chaired by Dr. Liu Zhiqiang and involved researchers from universities from Hong Kong and Mainland China, including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Xiamen University.
In this year, the cruise would conduct a high-resolution repeated mapping along South China Sea (SLF)  and extended  more toward  western area, where is a potential driving force of hypoxia problem in SLF and Hong Kong. The cruise was carried out from 20180705 to 20180731, the locations of all stations are shown below:
